Riverdale recap in 3 minutes or less. Based on the Archie Comics characters, Riverdale follows Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead as they navigate high school, love, and the darkest mysteries lurking in their small town.
Season 1 begins with the shocking murder of Jason Blossom, unraveling secrets that reveal heroin smuggling through the Blossom syrup business and a devastating family betrayal. From there, each season raises the stakes: Fred Andrews is shot, the Black Hood terrorizes sinners, the sinister Farm cult lures in townsfolk, and the deadly game Griffins and Gargoyles unleashes the Gargoyle King.
Later, Jughead fakes his own death to expose Stonewall Prep, Archie opens a community center, and the town is haunted by disturbing videotapes. A seven-year time jump finds the gang as adults fighting Hiram Lodge’s takeover, before Riverdale takes a supernatural turn with alternate realities, superpowers, and even a comet that resets time.
The final season places the characters in 1955, where Tabitha Tate reveals the truth of the reset timeline. In the series finale, each friend’s life is honored, ending with Betty joining Archie, Jughead, and Veronica in the afterlife—forever teens at Pop’s.
All seven seasons of Riverdale are now streaming on The CW.
