I have an older Ariens riding lawn mower that would't move. The engine runs good but it wouldn't go forward or reverse. Many videos I found showed a belt problem, but that was not the case for me. It ended up being a spring that returns the clutch into the tigtened postion so that it can engage. It tried my best to show how I fixed it. You can get the spring at TSC or most likely eny hardware store.
The exact mower I have is the Ariens 19HP with the 42" deck. It has the Kohler engine in it.
