Description
The RetroTINK-2X Pro is a zero-lag line doubler that connects classic game consoles to a modern TV over HDMI, converting 240p/480i signals to 480p so your games display correctly instead of being mangled by the TV's own processing. It can also be placed in front of a video capture card, giving you a clean digital signal for streaming and recording your retro gameplay. Note that it's a line doubler, not a full scaler; final sharpness depends on your display.
RetroTINK-2X Pro vs. 4X Pro and 5X Pro:
The RetroTINK-2X Pro is built around one principle: convert a 240p signal to a clean, zero-lag 480p image and let your display finish the job. For that task it is fully adequate. A 240p source carries very little detail to begin with, so scaling it beyond 480p adds no real sharpness; the higher output resolutions of the 5X and 4K don't reveal anything that isn't already in the signal. If you're playing clean 240p sources, you're happy with how your TV scales the image, and you don't care about CRT-style scanline emulation, the 2X-Pro does the whole job with zero added lag. The 5X and 4K do add real capabilities however; full upscaling to your panel's native resolution, CRT masks, and motion-adaptive deinterlacing for 480i, but those only matter if you actually want them. For that specific use case, they aren't better; they're just more.
