This week's BARGAIN opportunity is the almost ludicrously RARE Black RCA stock copy of a timeless Northern Soul anthem, noting its uber-rarity has been validated by Discogs not having a listing for fully THIRTEEN years.
The lure of the RCA BLACK STOCK is just as strong as it has always been, most RCA junkie's this is the one they have missing from the run. but BEWARE vinyl condition is only vg. whilst labels are excellent +. We are not expecting a king's ransom for it, but we would like to go to a real RCA dedicate who will be able to slip this black stocker into the 47-9164 void, that's been vacant for more decades than you care to remember.
Musically no introduction required for this Teddy Vann creation - there are not many better known Northern Soul classics than this one...used on TV adverts, and played by every Northern Soul jock, in every notable club up and down the land since the 70's genesis of the scene.
But how many actually own a this "Black Is Beautiful" copy 45, not many we fear, if we see a copy maybe once in a decade, if we are lucky.
Oh so elusive and so very wanted, we'll be so happy if it ends up in a worthy RCA run.
Condition Report
Multiple surface marks, crackles on the intro, then the sound settles down (listen), both those crucial black stock labels are clean, see images. Looking beautiful in its correct vintage company sleeve. We've graded the vinyl as vg the labels as EX+ the sleeve as Mint minus.
