I've always felt there could have been something more between them (even as a young girl) and when I re-watched the show years later I realized why I prefer them to R/R. They had such a great potential to be a couple of people who are actually suitable to each other and who love each other and would never hurt each other, no matter what (which is something I cannot say about R/R).
