Can finally release my new EP after completing this track. Had this on the backburner for a really long time because i couldn't figure out what to do with the second half. But i recently had some time off work and i decided to power through it and get it done. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as i have making it!!

Now time for me to ramble a bit.. I wanted to try making some drumfunk sampling the drums off a live recording of Alligator Boogaloo by Lou Donaldson. The drummer Idris Muhammad was fantastic on the drums, so crisp and has so much groove to it, was really fun to rearrange it into different contexts. The kick drum sounds quite unusual, a bit hollow and ringing out for longer. The break has like two parts to it, a quieter, held-back one at the intro of the song, and a crazy long solo at the second half. For this track i used to quieter one so that it fit the mood. I plan on sampling the other break for another more energetic song (down the line). For the pads, i made a very simple sine pad which i learned how to make from some videos on here. Then i did the drumfunk thing where you transpose the chords up and down the scale (something something parallel) which had a cool effect. For the second half of the track i used another drum break, but i dont know what song it was originally sampled from because it was from a "Sample Me" released by Paradox alongside some songs. Decided to go with a different break on the second half to add a little more energy and switch it up a bit

For the artwork, i knew i wanted a dead forest theme for the EP so i decided on a staffage-like idea where fluttershy is really small (nearly insignificant) in the frame while being dwarfed by the scenery around her. Posing her took a couple minutes, and then actually building the scene from nothing took so much longer. I lost track of how many dead trees and plants i've set up lol
