Description
In 2025 the IRS introduced form 1099-DA for all crypto exchanges. Meaning, since Jan 1 2025 CEXs have been auto-reporting all crypto sales to the IRS. If your 2025 tax return does not match what is reported to the IRS... you might get flagged. Further, in 2026 all CEXs will require cost basis reporting.
