Description
Mastitis struck yet again😔 Seems to be routine at this point🙄
All was fine & dandy until I started to feel achy and unfortunately because I’ve been down this road before (BAD), I knew what was brewing.
Luckily we were within the 2 week window and were able to go straight up to the postpartum unit instead of waiting in emerge!
I let them know that I was familiar with these symptoms & the doc and nurse were angels. They got me onto meds asap.
A week into my 2 week prescription, I started to get symptoms AGAIN. My family doctor put me on stronger meds & sent me for an ultrasound.
Nothing has been discovered. My body must just struggle with the supple and potentially have structural issues.
Grateful that with this go around, my husband and baby were able to be in the hospital with me unlike in 2020 when I was alone and soaking gowns every 20 minutes since I wasn’t provided a pump. That, of course, severely escalated the mastitis and put me days of drip antibiotics. Ever since then, I think my body is very easily triggered.
Things seem to be uphill now! Lowkey excited to leave breastfeeding in the past 😅🤪
