10 stop Neutral Density / ND 1000 Filter
Polar Pro is branching out and releasing their Cinema Series Full Frame camera filters. This is a round, threaded filter system.

I recently saw Polar Pro while at NAB 2018 and they let me test out a 77MM ND1000 (10 stop) Neutral Density, Polarized filter. My initial impressions as far as build quality is that PolarPro is really going for the high end market and building a top quality filter. I will do a full, in-depth review later to test the optical quality.

Coatings -
The QuartzLine filters feature optical ND coatings, achieving near perfect target transmission while maintaining a hyper-neutral color profile. Added scratch resistant and hydrophobic coatings increase surface hardness while repelling oil and water
ND Filters are one of my main filters that I use in my architectural and landscape work. In Landscape work large stop ND (10+ stops) are often used to smooth water, create motion in clouds and make other effects directly in camera.
** Quick tip - for a 10 Stop ND Filter (ND 1000) multiply your exposure time before adding the filter by 1000. Meaning, a 1/100 sec exposure becomes a 10 second exposure. **
The single most important factor in any filter is the quality of the filter element themselves and in ND filters the most important factor is actually being "Neutral" in color. This means that colors are not changed and that they are just reducing the transmission of light and not the color. PolarPro has said that these filter are "Hyper Neutral" and that they will not cause a color shift. Often in long exposure photography your camera sensor will create a Magenta color shift. This shift is easily correctable in whatever Raw / Image processing software you use.
