About 30 minutes before Avenged Sevenfold hit the stage, I got a text:
"Do you wanna play rhythm guitar for BATH?"
When an opportunity like that drops in your lap, you don’t say no.
So I spent most of the show huddled near the back of the crowd, frantically scrolling through tabs on my phone, trying to refresh my memory on one of the band’s most iconic tracks. No pressure, right? Just over a thousand mega-fans... and my first time ever meeting the band... oh, and I’ve barely played standing up before (who needs a strap anyway?).
Needless to say, my nerves were through the roof. I was so focused on not messing up that I didn’t even notice Zacky sitting right on the speaker next to me.
All things considered, I think it went alright! Shoutout to Hector and Chance, who absolutely crushed it.
