A Placer County supervisor is urging action to improve safety on Interstate 80 after a crash involving a big rig with suspected brake failure left several people injured. “These semi-trucks are driving very, very fast and many of them are not used to the mountain roads, and when we say mandatory brake check, it should mean mandatory brake check,” said Cindy Gustafson, Placer County supervisor for District 5.
