Alberto Dominguez Borras composed this great song in 1939. He was from Chiapas, Mexico. The introductory verse is always omitted in most versions except for Andrea Bocelli's and this cover by the Spanish group " Boleros Bengalies ". It sets up the entire sequence of emotions and shouldn't be omitted: " No One / Understands what I suffer./ I sing / because I can't cry anymore. / Alone/ I am suffering from anxiety. / Everyone/ (sees me ) or leave me alone and go away. / " ( 2nd verse ) " Woman,...etc. " The rest of the song has been sung in both English and Spanish many times e.g. by Trini Lopez and Linda Ronstadt. The dance tempo is 'Cha Cha Cha'. A slightly slower type of Cuban Mambo. The singing style is ballad or 'Bolero'. The video includes famous romantic leads in big Hollywood movies. Rita Hayworth's look I especially like. Johnny Weismueller's " Tarzan " photo I find amusing as He carries Jane like game from hunting. I understand some women like that but doesn't seem romantic. But maybe that's not the point?
