UPDATE 8/1/19 - The track is mostly back to business as usual thanks to new track management, staff, and volunteers that came together to get us back to racing!
UPDATE 8/26/19 - The track has held several drag racing and road racing events, timing on the drag strip is back to 100% and the track sourced some used score boards from US36 Dragway in Missouri to replace the old damaged boards!
Here's the latest update on our local track (Raceway Park of the Midlands / I29 Dragway in Pacific Junction IA) was in the middle of the EXTREME flooding that occurred in Nebraska & Iowa in March 2019 - Here's what it looks like 2 weeks later on March 31st - we're hopeful that both tracks will be useable without too much work, but only time will tell.
How did this happen? Our local track is about 1.5 miles from the Missouri river - The Missouri & many other connected rivers received a LOT of water from rain, snowfall & melting snow all in a few days causing levies & dams to fail in surrounding areas.
