This amazing model is a fractal, you can repeat the steps and add theoretically infinite amount of layers! Each level becomes smaller and smaller, so eventually it becomes impossible add more layers. Special paper is not required. I can fold 6 layers easily from standard 15cm x 15cm origami paper. You can make even more if you use a larger sheet of paper.
