Omalaale is a nostalgic, uplifting track from NotSoHipHop that celebrates love for self-expression, and personal freedom. The title—Omalaale—is a Malayalam term of endearment, often used for lovers, close friends, or family. The hook of the track (delivered by Hatsmyth) boldly declares a sense of freedom and self-awareness to all the “Omalaale”s in life — those who have always restricted or resisted change, or the call of your inner self. “Omalaale, while you watch me, I would have changed entirely.”.
It’s a tender yet bold declaration of growth.
With a warm, vintage-pop sound fused with hip-hop elements, the track radiates joy and empowerment. The track is conceived and produced by Hatsmyth and we have additional production of this track done by Vxal.
Featuring Lil Payyan and Ekan (from the Arivushala Collective), both artists take a melodic route. Lil Payyan brings a youthful charm and his willingness to dance with all his dreams, engaging in a direct conversation with his audience. Meanwhile Ekan delivers a message of defiance and freedom: go mock the ones who mock you. The track affirms that everyone deserves the right to live, speak, and dress as they choose.
