Description
July is National Ice Cream Month! This is soft and delicious vanilla ice cream the way we enjoyed it back when ice cream makers were hand cranked! (But I use an electric 4-quart ice cream maker now.)
Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups sugar
1 can evaporated milk (12 oz.)
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
6 eggs (Note: Pasteurized liquid eggs may be substituted if you are not comfortable using raw eggs.)
2 Tablespoon vanilla extract
Whole milk (a little less than 1 gallon)
Ice cream salt
Ice
