Striders Story
When I got Strider back in April of 2023 I never expected to learn that he was only 2 and 1/2! I never had a reason to take him to the vet just to get aged so I waited for when I gelded him and aged him the best I could. So let's do some math here, I've had him for 14 months and previous owners had him for 7 months; if he's about 2.5, that would put him at about 9 months when he went through auction. I've gone back and looked at pictures of him at the auction and it really does look like he was really young, short tail and not much mane. He was also said to be rideable and pulled a cart with an 8-ish-year-old kid riding him. They said they were told he was 4 about 5 years old and already gelded. They also said he was from a Mennonite farm somewhere near Nashville.
So there may be a good chance he could be registered for from registered parents, although I'm not sure why they'd lie. Hopefully, I will hardship him into AMHA and have him registered to see if his DNA matches anyone in their database. Either way poor thing didn't have the best start to life but now he's quite happy with his herd of girls.
