Description
In this video, I present a compact mechanical wood splitter designed specifically for making kindling.
The machine is powered by a 1.1 kW, 1400 rpm electric motor and a 1:25 gearbox, driving a rack and pinion system (module 2.5, 14-tooth gear).
The frame is built from 50x50x3 mm steel profile and reinforced with an 80x6 mm flat bar.
It easily splits logs up to 20 cm in diameter.
A 370 Nm gas strut from a truck ensures safe and controlled return of the splitting mechanism.
