As far back as I can remember I have loved the idea of the adventure, danger, and skill involved in hunting with a spear. Being an Illinois hunter prevents me from legally using a spear to hunt and the availability of Cold Steel Hunting Spears is now dead.
The good news is I am actually impressed with the new generation of the Tim Wells branded Sabertooth Spear. The spear comes set up ready for treestand hunting, but with a little bit of work it can be modified for more intuitive throwing from the ground. The Sabertooth Spear has also been designed with removeable spear heads as well as a pretty durable take down socket.
I can say honestly that for the what you would spend you are getting the product's worth of your money.
