The latest updates on an open-source project to develop two new maps for visualizing the risk to drivers from winter weather: LCR and BFP+. LCR consolidates the factors that increase the risk of icy roads into a single, easy-to-understand parameter. BFP+ is a plot of precipitation in the context of surface temperature, providing another visual of the risk for icy roads.
