My Father’s Mask - A Poem By Majid Johar
I found a mask of my father one day,
And I started wearing it from that day.
Through it, I saw my children and wife,
Their smiles, their joys, every bit of life.
Some days I was scolded by my boss,
Some days I suffered a heavy loss.
Every day I felt drained and tossed,
Fighting for the bread, at any cost.
I was tired and broken inside,
But that Veil was steady outside
Within, I was sniffling and crying,
Yet that Persona was always smiling.
To the world, though the shield was lying,
But whispered me the truth my dad was hiding.
