Description
HIIII FRENS!
I wanted to share what i've been up to! My family and group host this magical event once a year and I wanted to share it with all of you!!!
Mexica new year is the celebration of the indigenous Mexica people. Mexica new year happens in March in alignment with the Spring equinox. There are different groups across California that host the Mexica New Year event. Danza Azteca Xochipilli are the hosting Mexica New Year East Los Angeles and have been hosting this event every 1st Saturday of March for the past 25 years. This year is Ce Tochtli, one rabbit. Danza Azteca Xochipilli is lead by Adolfo and Eva Arteaga, along with their 3 children. For over 30 years, Adolfo and Eva, have cultivated an indigenous circle in the East Los Angeles community where they offer a space to connect to Mexica culture free of charge.
Mexica New Year is their gift to the community of East Los Angeles. The event is entirely sponsored by the Arteaga family and the members of their community.
