Description

Just when we thought they were out, he pulls them back in!

How about that? Argentina were on the brink of exiting the tournament before the greatest to ever do it had his say. Lionel Messi provided an assist for Romero's goal to give them hope before hitting an absolutely stunning late equaliser, before Enzo Fernandez nodded in an added time winner. There were tears from both sides at the end, including from the little magician. Does this mean more to Argentina than to other nations? Kyle Martino is in the studio with the Two Robbies to discuss that and more.

Messi's genius wasn't the only deciding factor in Atlanta. Unfortunately VAR wanted to be the star of the show yet again. The standard of refereeing has been great, Kyle argues, letting play flow and encouraging brilliant attacking displays. But that quality is being completely undermined by those at the video monitor. Enough is enough.

That goal takes Messi back to the top of the pile in the race for the Golden Boot, but is it written in the stars for him to claim it at the end? The boys discuss and disagree. With Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and a certain Kylian Mbappe still in the hunt, Messi is not nailed on for the individual award.

And on the subject of Golden Boots, Harry Kane and superstar strikers... Is the lethal Englishman the best at what he does since the great Brazilian phenomenon Ronaldo "R9" Nazario? Everyone agrees the man from Rio de Janeiro is the best in modern times, but is Kane up there in that bracket?

Heading along the coast from Rio to Sao Paulo, what is Neymar's legacy? It was a sad end for the Brazilian, bowing out to Norway and hanging up his boots for the national team, but he enjoyed a career at the top of European club football, winning the Champions League and a cabinet full of league titles, as well as the 2016 Olympics with Brazil AND he's his country's all-time top goalscorer. Having said all that, did he somehow fail to live up to the potential? He was tipped to challenge Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the crown and it never quite happened. He had a huge impact culturally and a very significant one on the pitch, but the end leaves a bitter taste.

No issue of bitter tastes in New York City, as Dennis Prescott enjoys a Kick Of Flavor that transports him south. Empanadas from Argentina, Mexico and Venezuela are on the menu, with their spicy kick enhanced beautifully by a crisp, sweet Pepsi!

Plus, our friends Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis are in the studio to chat to Robbie Earle and Kyle about family life, their first football experiences and what the tournament means to the city.

The Two Robbies & Friends, presented by Pepsi, is available to watch every day on Yahoo Sports and OneFootball
