Description
In this episode, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani joins Independent Journalist Garrison Hayes from Mother Jones Magazine to discuss how climate change has affected the city and how policy can mitigate the issue. The conversation explores how constituents are seeing climate changes first-hand, and how governments are reimagining ways to address them.
Mayor Mamdani visited The New School as a part of Climate Desk Live, an event hosted by Parsons’ Tishman Environment and Design Center during NYC Climate week in September 2026. This event was presented in collaboration with Mother Jones, Capital B News, and the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
