In his review of the 1981 Broadway musical disaster "Marlowe," NY Times critic Frank Rich described it as "a wholly ridiculous show that is much more fun to sit through than many merely mediocre musicals." Here is almost 40 minutes of pro-shot footage from "Marlowe"; just think of how many other Broadway musicals from around the same time have left us with no pro-shot footage whatsoever. Patrick Jude is Marlowe and Lisa Mordente (daughter of Chita Rivera) was his girlfriend, Emilia; Mordente received a 1982 Tony nomination as Best Actress in a Musical. "Marlowe" lasted 48 performances at the Rialto Theatre, on Broadway between 42nd and 43rd. The theatre was demolished in 2002.
