Description
In 1991 at London's Old Vic, Oscar Hammerstein's 1943 Broadway version of "Carmen," entitled "Carmen Jones," had its West End premiere. It won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and ran for almost two years. The first part of this video consists of footage from a live performance, with Patti Boulaye as Carmen Jones. At 17:38, I've attached three numbers from this production as seen on UK TV, with the original cast, including Carolyn Sebron as Frankie, Sharon Benson as Carmen, and Gregg Baker as Husky Miller.
