Following the breakdown of the Pazzi conspiracy, Lorenzo must still face a military coalition from the Pontifical states and the Kingdom of Naples, led by the ambitious Girolamo Riario. He undertakes a diplomatic journey to Naples and succeeds in negotiating a separate peace.
