Our biggest pier fishing season in history! We are pier fishing in the Panhandle of Florida USA, home to the best piers in the world! The Gotcha Plug might be one of the easiest ways to catch fast, aggressive fish from shore. We headed to a Florida Gulf Coast pier after hearing reports of Spanish mackerel moving through the area, tied on a single Gotcha Plug, and immediately started getting bites while most anglers around us struggled to hook up.
In this episode, we break down exactly how we fish the Gotcha Plug, the setup we use, why we prefer a 30 lb leader over steel, and how this simple lure helped us catch a pile of Spanish mackerel from the pier. Then we take the fish back to the Airbnb, cook them up, and enjoy the freshest dinner of the trip.
