A massive landslide has struck Gangubali Hill along the Kandhamal-Ganjam border in Odisha, reportedly sweeping away Baibeli and Gidipabali villages under huge mounds of earth and debris. As many as 13 people from the two villages are reported missing. Some villagers have taken shelter at a relief centre in Kilapanga village.
Fire Services personnel have reached the landslide-hit area and launched a search operation to trace the missing villagers. The Baliguda Sub-Collector and Raikia BDO have also reached the spot to assess the situation.
