Business competition is tough now days. Watch how Crystal and Solangy battle to bring in customers to buy their oranges. First, Crystal began selling big oranges for $1 each.
This motivated Solangy to also start her own business. Solangy was determined to the point that she offered her oranges at half the current market price. Solangy later faced difficulties when she realized that customers were inclined to buy no more than two oranges since there were no bags available.
This problem generated an opportunity for Crystal which enabled her to come back and match the current market price plus offer bags so that customers can buy larger quantities of oranges, therefore incrementing sales and revenue. Solangy then came back strong with a big stand (an upgrade from a small basket), custom-made bags for oranges, and this time offered three oranges for $1.
The business world can be unpredictable even for larger organizations that are doing so well, and because competitors found a newer, more efficient and more profitable way of conducting the same business, will be unable to keep up the pase.
In the last scene, Crystal had something under her sleeve. She had a truck-load of oranges.
Some organizations will beat the competition because they are more innovative. Others will accomplish it because they simply have, to a certain extend, unlimited financial resources which can buy out smaller innovative businesses that could later represent a thread to them.
