A flaw in games like this is that you're often only given a small number of ways you can deal with any particular problem. Baldur's Gate 2, for all that it does well, is really bad at allowing you to play an evil character that isn't a murder hobo and for all the advances this game has made in its quest structure, sometimes it fumbles. I should easily be able to solve this quest by paying those people some coin to help them survive, but no. The only choice I have are robbing a merchant of what remains of their merchanise or denying some desperate people their one chance at getting back on their feet.
Plot shortfalls aside, the next location we'll be heading to is back to Anslög's Compass where there's another bounty to be had. This time it's a despicable group of pirates who have one of the few named magic arqubuses in the game.
