Wednesday, September 23, from 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Create a striking blue heron silhouette using a wide variety of unexpected fibers: think ethereal layers of nylon net, flowing strands of novelty yarn, soft, sculptural wool roving, all on an ombre background. We’ll blend these materials to build depth, texture, and movement that bring your heron to life in a new way.
You’ll learn:
- No-fail techniques for layering, bonding, and stitching fibers with ease and confidence
- How to use fibers in unconventional ways to evoke feathers, water, and landscape
- Simple composition tips for creating a strong visual impact
Mini Whimsical Bicycle Art Quilt
Thursday, September 24, from 8:30 am - 4:00pm
Create a Mini Whimsical Bicycle art quilt while learning skills to use in future projects. Hone your paper piecing skills with the freezer paper technique that finishes with no paper to pick off. Learn easy peasy turned-edge appliqué using bias tape makers, raw-edge appliqué, and couching. Kit includes everything you need to complete the quilt top. Registration for this workshop includes complimentary show admission for Thursday.
Confetti Art Quilt: Landscape - SOLD OUT
Friday, September 25, from 8:30 am - 11:30 am
See color, proportion, depth, and shadows through an art teacher’s eyes. In this fun and eye-opening workshop, you’ll create a woodland scene with confetti-cut fabrics “painted” on quilt batting. Layers and layers of tiny bits of batik and hand-dyed fabrics create a beautiful landscape. Fussy-cut trees, rocks, and flowers will be added before topping with a layer of tulle. Return home with a freemotion quilt and embellish your masterpiece. You can bring a photo to work from or borrow one from the instructor.
Confetti Art Quilt: Looking Up - SOLD OUT
Friday, September 25, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Create a bug’s eye view of nature with confetti cut fabrics “painted” on quilt backing. Layers and layers of tiny bits of batik, hand-dyed silk, and solid fabrics create this work. Fussy-cut tree trunks and branches are added before topping with a layer of tulle. Quilting threads embellish the art quilt with freemotion stitching. Bring a photo to work from or borrow one from the instructor.

Dive into the world of quilted cards and create one-of-a-kind fiber art greetings for any occasion. This workshop is your passport to a world of creative possibilities. Create one-of-a-kind, fiber art greeting cards for all seasons and occasions. Put your machine’s specialty stitches to use, practice forgiving freemotion quilting, and try out new techniques. Walk away with several finished cards, ready to share with loved ones or add to your personal collection, plus with the skills and inspiration to create more.

Lunch & Learn: Surface Design
Wednesday, September 23, from 11:45 am - 1:00 pm
Take your quilt to the next level with depth, texture, and sparkle. This lecture explores both the supplies and techniques to help you develop new ways to express your creativity. Learn how to use Inktense Pencils/Blocks, paints, cheesecloth, wool roving, and novelty fibers to embellish your work. Discover old techniques such as rouching, couching, stenciling, and weaving, made new again in a fun and easy way. Leave with a packet of resources to get you started on your next quilt.
Lunch will be provided. There will be options to choose from during registration. Lecture will start at noon once meals have been given out.
