Description
The KUKA LBR iisy is an industrial cobot built for demanding production environments, combining collaborative flexibility with industrial-grade robustness and performance. In this video, it's shown as a welding cobot, performing arc welding.
Programming is done through hand guiding: the robot is manually guided along the weld path, without requiring manual code input. Full welding functionality is accessed via iiQKA.OS2, KUKA's operating system, including touch-up programming, process optimization and parameter adjustments on the SmartPad.
For offline programming, iiQWorks.Sim Arc AddOn allows welding programs to be created and validated on a virtual robot controller before deployment to the physical robot, reducing commissioning time.
To compensate for variations in component tolerances, the LBR iisy uses sensor technology from wenglor sensoric combined with SeamTech Finding. This combination detects deviations along the weld seam and automatically adjusts the welding path, reducing the need for manual rework.
