In “I Could Die,” laye describes feeling stuck in a repetitive part of life where she’s tired of feeling broke, lonely, controlled by other people, and generally unfulfilled. At the same time, she doesn’t actually want to stop living she wants to feel something exciting and break out of that routine. The song mixes those darker feelings with a playful, rebellious attitude, using fantasies, spontaneity, and doing whatever sounds fun as ways to get her mind off everything. It was released on April 29, 2022.
