Waze has officially completed the installation of Waze Beacons across Madrid’s vast tunnel network, marking the largest installation of its kind in Europe and the second-largest globally.
Spanning nearly 70 kilometers of underground roadways, this massive project deploys over 2,700 strategically placed beacons to solve a long-standing challenge for drivers: losing location tracking underground. Through a key partnership with Calle30, the municipal company managing Madrid’s M-30 highway network, drivers can now experience seamless, uninterrupted GPS navigation from entry to exit, setting a new benchmark for smart city infrastructure and urban navigation.
