Description
Krystle D’Souza gets candid in an exclusive conversation with Filmfare about her journey in the entertainment industry, her experience on The Traitors 2, her appearance in Dhurandhar and the stereotypes she has faced as a television actor.
After spending years in the industry and becoming known for the characters she has played, Krystle says The Traitors 2 finally gave audiences a chance to know her beyond her on-screen roles. She looks back at the moment she discovered she was a traitor on the reality show and reveals how she decided that if she was going to lie and manipulate the other contestants, she had to win.
The actress also takes us through how she landed an opportunity in Dhurandhar. Krystle reveals that casting director Mukesh Chhabra called her with the offer just four to five days before the shoot. She admits she was initially unsure about learning the song in such a short time, but a conversation with her girlfriends pushed her to call back and say yes to the audition.
Krystle then speaks about being repeatedly labelled a 'TV actor'. While she takes pride in her television background and the training it has given her, she talks about being called an overexposed face and hearing that filmmakers wanted someone 'fresher'.
She also reveals one of the most disappointing reasons she has lost out on a film role. Despite the director, casting director and the rest of the team being happy with her, the leading actor reportedly had a different preference for his heroine.
And in a fun rapid-fire round, Krystle names Ritwik Dhanjani as the person most likely to accidentally reveal someone's secret. She explains that he tends to speak without realising what he should or should not say and is not particularly good at lying!
