Known for his rendition of The Doors' "Light My Fire" and the best-selling Christmas single "Feliz Navidad,” Puerto Rican-born José Feliciano is one of the best known and most beloved Latino music starts of the last few decades. Pairing a smooth guitar style with a soothing voice and famous sense of humor, the famed musician has endeared himself to millions and has done it all without the use of his eyes. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded him “Best Pop Guitarist,” placing him in their “Gallery of the Greats,” and he’s been voted both “Best Jazz and Best Rock Guitarist” in the Playboy Magazine reader’s poll, as well. In 1996, Jose was selected to receive Billboard Magazine’s “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
"Purple Haze" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and released as the second record single by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on March 17, 1967. As a record chart hit in several countries and the opening number on the Experience's debut American album, it was many people's first exposure to Hendrix's psychedelic rock sound.
