Description
Adding 2000 watts of heating power to my 500-gallon coral grow-out system to keep temperatures stable.
I am installing four 500-watt Finnex heaters to ensure my coral grow-out system maintains consistent temperatures. This system consists of four 115-gallon tubs and my original Geo Reef Sump, totaling just under 500 gallons of volume. Proper heating is a critical part of any reef tank equipment upgrade, especially when managing large volumes of water for coral growth.
Throughout the process, I am monitoring the performance of these heaters using the connected app to track AC voltage and real-time temperature readings. Whether you are working on a large-scale diy project or refining a smaller reef tank setup, understanding how to integrate high-wattage heaters is essential for maintaining a stable environment. This reef tank build is designed to keep my livestock thriving, and I will add a fifth heater later if the system needs more capacity.
