Description
The recent news about Native Instruments hit me harder than I expected.
I used to work at iZotope before the merger, and like a lot of people, I’ve been watching the speculation and hot takes fly around from folks who were never inside those companies. So I wanted to share a different kind of perspective — not gossip, not insider leaks — just what it feels like to see a company you loved, and people you care about, go through something like this.
Inside companies like iZotope and Native Instruments are real humans: designers, engineers, product managers, musicians — people who genuinely care about audio and about helping others make music. That part of the story tends to get lost when headlines start flying.
In this video, I talk about:
• What it was like working at iZotope
• Why the NI merger felt exciting at the time
• How it feels now, watching from the outside
• And why the people behind these tools matter more than the speculation
If iZotope, NI, RX, Ozone, Kontakt, Traktor, Absynth, or any of these tools have ever helped you make something you’re proud of — this one’s for you.
