NEW VIDEO! I hope you like the video, basically, the main units of the Sphinx are Chains, Rods, but especially GUNTER CHAINS of 66 FT, LINKS and FATHOMS.
This has implications. I get the feeling that the Old Kingdom may not have been even fully aware of the Sphinx' existence, and for most of Egyptian history, the Sphinx was left alone!
This accords with history, classical authors like Herodotus and Diodorus do not have a clue it even exists. The inventory stela of course says that Khufu renovated the Sphinx, but I'm not really detecting much of that either, except for maybe the face!
It's possible Thutmosis 4 restored the renovation made by Khufu, that is the forepaws. This all tracks the Sphinx to my Civ 1 and Civ 2, before the Dynastic Egyptians. The units in fact match the deep underground units of Malanga et al! The lower length is the only dimension in Cubits and you can see the paws look very different to the rest of the structure.
The Ears map almost perfectly to ten links, the nose to 11 links.
Cheek to Cheek face width to 22 links, double the nose height.
Head was carved from a 52*52 link block of stone.
