For most of my life, Memphis was simply home.
It was where I lived, worked, and moved through life without always realizing what was right in front of me.
Then COVID happened.
Like so many others, life took an unexpected turn. I left Tennessee and spent time in St. Louis trying to find my footing again. What I didn't realize at the time was that photography would become more than a hobby—it would become a way of seeing the world differently.
When I eventually found my way back to Memphis, I returned with a camera in my hand and a new perspective.
This time, I wasn't just living in the city.
I was observing it.
From the energy of Beale Street to the quiet moments tucked away on side streets, Memphis revealed itself in ways I had never fully appreciated before. The music, the history, the people, the resilience, the imperfections, and the beauty all became part of the story.
That's what inspired my book, *Memphis: Shadow & Shine.*
This video isn't about camera gear or photography tips.
It's about rediscovering a city through the lens of a photographer.
It's about slowing down long enough to notice the stories happening all around us.
It's about human connection.
And it's about finding your way home.
