🇬🇧 I Jumped Into Normandy for D-Day with SAS Sergeant Major Melvyn Downes with Round Canopy Parachute Team GB (RCPT GB), exiting a historic WWII Dakota aircraft over France.
For the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, I travelled to Normandy to take part in one of the most unique experiences of my life: parachuting from a historic WWII Dakota aircraft over the very countryside where Allied airborne forces landed in June 1944.
Joining me was former SAS Sergeant Major Melvyn Downes, along with the incredible Round Canopy Parachute Team Great Britain (RCPT GB), who work to preserve the memory and traditions of the airborne forces through historic parachute displays and commemorative jumps.
From pre-jump preparations and flying in a vintage Dakota to exiting the aircraft over Normandy itself, this was an unforgettable opportunity to experience a small glimpse of what those brave men faced more than eight decades ago.
