I Built the Nintendo 64 Controller Rare Never Made

Description

What if Rare had built the controller they always wanted?
GoldenEye 007 hid one of gaming's strangest control schemes. By plugging in two Nintendo 64 controllers, players accidentally recreated something that feels surprisingly close to the modern dual-analog layout we still use today.
So... what if you took that idea one step further?
In this build, we're designing and fabricating a full-size controller attachment inspired by the iconic weapon from GoldenEye 007. Built from aluminium, 3D printed components and custom electronics, the goal isn't just to create a prop—it's to make the ultimate way to experience one of the greatest FPS games ever made.
Can this bizarre controller actually improve the GoldenEye experience, or is it just one of gaming's weirdest experiments?
