How To Calculate aluminium and Copper Cable Current Carrying Capacity In Tamil

Description

On design point of view, there are no thumb rules to follow. But after working on hell lot of project, i follow some instant solution for 'guessing' cable sizes.
See, for Cu we consider capacity as 6 x sqmm and for Al 4x sqmm, these values gives us minimum guess. Interestingly, these multiplying does not hold good when we move up in sqmm. Upto 25sqmm, these relation works fine.
After that, multiplying factor decreases and near 400sqmm, capacity become almost equal to sqmm for Al and 1.5 times for copper.
Still, various factors are considered like whether conductors are going to install in air, wireway or underground. So to be economically safer, i do manual calculation on formulated excel sheet, where voltage drop, short circuit values are also considered.
