How I Work Out Before Work (I'm Not a Morning Person) | My Morning Routine

I work out before work, and no—I'm not a morning person. For years, I told myself I'd work out after work. Spoiler: I never did.

I work from home as a digital marketing manager, so I'd finish my workday exhausted from Zoom calls and screen time. The last thing I wanted to do was work out. I knew if I wanted to be consistent, I had to do it in the morning.

But waking up early felt impossible. I'd hit snooze 5 times and feel like garbage.

Then I figured out the secret: prep the night before.

Here's what I do:
✓ Lay out my gym clothes the night before
✓ Fill my water bottle
✓ Prep a quick breakfast (protein shake or banana with peanut butter)

When I wake up, I just brush my teeth, throw my hair up, eat something quick, and go. No decisions, just action.

I'm back by 8 AM, shower, and at my desk by 8:30. My workouts are done before my workday even starts.

It's not about being a morning person—it's about removing friction.
