In this episode of A Filmmaker’s Journey, I sit down with travel filmmaker Heber Stanton to talk about how his career started and the path that led him to where he is today.

Heber’s journey started with summers in Alaska visiting his grandpa. Surrounded by incredible landscapes, he began filming everything with a GoPro and quickly became obsessed with capturing the world through video.

Because his dad worked for Delta Airlines, Heber had access to flight benefits. Instead of letting them go to waste, he started traveling anywhere he could just to create content. Sometimes that meant flying across the world for a single day just to capture a few shots.

Over time, those passion projects turned into a portfolio, which eventually opened the door to brand partnerships and paid work.

In this conversation we talk about:

• How Heber got started in travel filmmaking
• The early inspiration behind his style
• The grind of turning filmmaking into a business
• Pitching brands and landing travel projects
• His viral eclipse video and how he shot it
• Balancing passion projects with paid work
• The future of filmmaking in an AI world

If you're a filmmaker, creator, or someone trying to build a creative career, this episode is packed with insights about persistence, storytelling, and betting on yourself.
