A cutting-edge microscope has allowed scientists to capture in real time how electroacupuncture directs the movement of immune cells inside living mice for the first time. The breakthrough offers a window into the biological mechanisms behind the therapy, which is aimed at calming inflammation in damaged tissue. The research team from Tsinghua University, Tongji Hospital, and Zhejiang Hehu Technology published their findings in a paper in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Biotechnology on July 15.
