This is the parade on Moscow's Red Square devoted to the 63rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, 7 November 1980. This parade took place during the beginning of renewed Cold War tensions between the USSR and USA, with the USA leading a boycott of the Moscow 1980 Summer Olympics earlier that year. Taking the salute is Minister of Defense, Marshal of the Soviet Union Dmitriy Ustinov. Commanding the parade is commander of the Moscow Military District, General of the Army Vladimir Govorov (his last parade). Music performed by the Combined Orchestra of the Moscow Garrison conducted by Colonel Nikolai Mikhailov.
