Description
How does EFA Group plan to connect soldiers, sensors, and vehicles across the battlefield? At AUSA 2026 in Washington, D.C., Army Recognition interviews Thanos Ioannidis, Business Development Director of EFA Group, about the Greek group’s approach to command and control and transatlantic defense cooperation.
Ioannidis explains a modular, open-architecture C2 ecosystem designed to bring assets across air, land, naval, and space domains into a unified data layer. He also discusses artificial intelligence for decision support and situational awareness, alongside private 5G-in-a-box and edge cloud hardware integrated with tactical software.
The interview covers EFA Group’s four business clusters, including unmanned systems, mission systems and training, integrated services, and sensors and targeting. It also addresses the group’s existing cooperation with U.S. defense and technology companies and its interest in new partnerships.
Interview recorded at the EFA Group booth in the Hellenic Pavilion during AUSA 2026.
