hey guys! I've missed u, here's a cover of Girl by Maren Morris. quarantine has brought out a lot of feeeels and definitely has taken a toll on mental health including my own. while being in this weird time right now, there is a lot of free time to rely on social media & with that comes both the bragging of “quarantine accomplishments”, as well as the downtime for just upward comparison. this song holds a special meaning and I wanted to share some of the things I took from it:
- first and foremost, personal growth is NOT linear and neither is progress
- judging is easy but understanding is hard. everyone is going through their own journey in life & you never know what someone else is going through
- social media showcases the best moments (and fake) parts of someone’s life.. never the ugly
- beating ourselves up based upon what we see in other people’s lives (esp. online) is unfair to both us and them
- we all are beautiful in our OWN ways and someone else’s beauty never will take away from your own
